Living the dream

Roy drove past this property last week, and we went to see it on Friday arvo. It's in Gosnells where he grew up, and zoned rural!

Best of all, he will be able to set up a workshop "at home" and will also be closer to all his major clients. He has been thinking about leasing a workshop unit anyway.

Our only immediate neighbour is a horse LOL!

So we put an offer on the property, pending sale of this house! Lots and lots of work to do in the next few weeks. The frustrating is that tradesmen just aren't coming to the party. A painter was supposed to come by this arvo but didn't. A gutter roofing guy promised to fax through a quote but hasn't. I think we'll end up doing most of it -- filling in cracks, fixing gutters, painting etc. We'll have to get a storage unit and slowly start packing up. Hopefully it will sell before July when the state govt stamp duty relief for first homebuyers is probably coming in.

Exciting but busy times!

A perfect day

Matilda: "hihihihihihi!!! nice to see you again!"

Despite me having a crap start to the day involving my knitting business, I would have to say that on the whole today was a perfect day.

I got up quite early, and Matilda and I had scrambled eggs and toast for brekky. We hung out the laundry. She likes to help :)I decided to go for a walk to the doctors (it's time to book for her 12 month vaccination!) . Conveniently it's right across the road from Coles for some veggies for tonight's dinner. I put her in the back carry of the Ergo sling - I'll take a pic of myself wearing Matilda. Great exercise too, instantly I've added 8.5kg to the weight I carry around.

Of course no walk to the shops is complete without the wogs wogs going for a walk walk! You should see Missy getting all excited when I say those words. It wasn't too hot yet. Of course Lulu was the "insanipuppy" for the first couple of blocks but soon settled down to heeling as we walked and sitting down when we cross the road. As usual for our walks, Missy was quite happy following at her own pace with a gentle "Come on Missy! Come on old dog..." from me once in a while.

Matilda was slathered with sunscreen and had her hat firmly on -- she kept trying to pull it off while we were in the house getting ready but left it alone once we were outside. She was quite comfy and content, resting her cheek on my back.

There's a park next to the shopping centre so I tied Missy and Lulu up under a tree. It was much better than them being in front of Coles. I am just sick of the stares and and rude comments we always get. OK people, Missy is skinny. Yes I know that. And of course I feed her! And yes yes yes she poos like a greyhound! They poo a lot. But she's a 14 year old greyhound, you idiot. And how do you think you'd look when you're 98 years old, huh? She's actually put on weight since I got her from TAFE in 2004.
OK OK I lied. She never gets any food because the chooks always steal it :)
No, not really. The real truth is that Lulu eats all of Missy's leftovers. So we have an anorexic greyhound and a fat puppy! Lulu is almost 2 years old but always a puppy, due to her small size but big belly! :)

At the shops Matilda charmed everyone we met. The teenager at the newsagency couldn't stop commenting on her as I bought some wrapping paper for Kyeson's dinosaur.

All went well until I took a tad too long at Coles and she took her hat off - she doesn't like it being on indoors! I asked one lady to put it on for me (as it's hard to reach behind my back)... all went well for about five minutes then she took it off again. Another kind lady helped me put it on again. This time she left it alone. Right. Off we go.

When we got home Matilda was nice and ready for her nap, all smiles and coos. Then my friend Abby came over for a visit. It was lovely to see her again, sit on the front porch, and have a good old chin-wag! Her son James is almost 2 years old but was in family daycare today. It was good of her to come all the way up from Armadale . Abby had lent us a bassinet when Matilda was born but she outgrew it months and months ago! Glad of the extra space now.

Anyway, Matilda must have slept for a good two hours, yay! And she woke up nice and happy, talking to herself again.

We are all refreshed after a nappy change. Miss M decided to pose for the camera!

Matilda: "buhbuhbuh see you next time!"

Welcome

It's such a pain in the bum to email pictures individually, so I thought I'd start a pictorial blog for family and friends near and far to read about my family here in Perth.

Featuring ---

the gorgeous,

the irresistable Matilda Mae!
